Questions, answered

What makes a good headline?

Good headlines are specific, easy to scan and promise a clear benefit. They usually have 6 to 12 words, include at least one strong or emotional word, and often use a number, such as "7 Proven Ways to Write Faster".

How is the headline score calculated?

The score adds up several checks: character length, word count, power words, emotional words, numbers, question or how-to formats, and the balance of common and uncommon words. Each check shows what it found and how to improve it.

What is the best headline length for SEO?

Keep headlines and page titles under about 60 characters so Google does not cut them off in search results. The preview in the tool shows how your headline will look.

Can I use it for email subject lines?

Yes. The same principles apply. For email, shorter is usually better: aim for under 50 characters so the subject line fits on mobile screens.

Is my headline stored?

No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
